The Einstein Factor

There's a game show in Australia called The Einstein Factor. (I honestly don't know if the rest of the world has it or an equivalent, so excuse me if the following explanation is irrelevant).

Somebody declares a specialty topic, and they do a set of trivia questions on that topic. There's other rounds, but I've never seen beyond that, since if I watch that much I'm already going to be late for church...

I'm auditioning in two weeks (27th Februvober 200. Guess what my topic is?


(My back-up topic, which I wasn't prepared to offer them so I came up with something very quick, was the music of Alice Cooper--Queen had been done.)

Flightpath, I'm sure you can't do a worse job speaking for the Australian people than John Howard did!

Well, the audition's over. (It's tomorrow in Australia, remember.)
They told us they'd call us tonight if we failed.
I haven't heard back from them yet which means either:
a) two hours isn't enough.
b) I passed.

My topic was specifically John Byrne's Alpha Flight.

A lot of questions about Sas; one of the ones I failed on was what team did he play footy for? The Packers flashed into my mind, but I forgot he'd played in the US, and said I didn't know. Then, really stupidly, guessed the Maple Leaves. (Then kicked myself in my mind; I know they're a hockey team!)

When was Puck born? (1914, I guessed the 20s based on he was in his 60s in the 80s. She seemed to trust my answer more than the 'net ones.)

True or False? Does John Byrne like Alpha Flight? (sic). No. Why not? The reason mentioned before (she'd just asked me a question about what were they first made to do? Take on the X-Men). (I forgot to add he thinks they're two dimensional.)

Why do some of them have cool names and some of them boring? This was one of several questions that were unclear to me, but it wasn't an official one. When I understood it, I explained that they all have both real and code names, and I've just been using whichever one I think of first.

Why did John Byrne leave? Why did Wolverine?

etc...

A weird question, which I ended up getting right, was 'Do any of the team have Canadian attributes?' (Yes) 'Give some examples'. (After trying to understand, I came up with Snowbird is Inuit, Shaman is Sarcee, the twins are strongly Quebecois.)

Ooh, a tough one, which I failed, was what was the year and month of Uncanny #120? (Apr 1979, and I just had to check. Of course, I'd studied up on AF#1.--Aug '83. But, apparently, printed in '82.)
