==History==
The mysterious Wyre was part of a supposedly defunct Government project that was reactivated and revised by the [[Secret Empire]]. Twelve years ago, he took part in creating an army of paranormal soldiers - killers without conscience. The Secret Empire used his genetically-altered DNA to turn subjects into monsters as he was their existing genetically-altered assassin. He knew he had created abominations, named the [[Breed]], so one by one he tracked down and killed all his creations. To atone for these sins, he destroyed the entire Secret Empire base, purging his creations. He feels such immense guilt that whenever he closes his eyes he sees the blood, broken limbs, bodies that he was responsible for. Each kill cuts a piece from his heart, but he merely wants to end the torment, and free the Breed from the savage madness.
He tracked down [[Weapon Omega]] and fully intended to finish the circle as he was the last of the Breed, but Alpha Flight came to Omega's rescue. In his second confrontation, Wyre shot an unsuspecting Weapon Omega in the head with a mercy bullet, as he doubted Wild Child was really consumed by his murderous rages. He learned his mission was not as noble as he'd thought. Knowing his mission was a failure left him with a void waiting to be filled. He decided to remain with Alpha Flight so he could turn destructive into constructive. He witnessed the rebirth of [[Manikin]], fought the possessed [[Witchfire]], and was instrumental in the defeat of [[Carcass]]. Wyre's current whereabouts are unknown; he may have finally found peace in himself.
==Powers/Abilities==
Wyre is a genetically altered assassin modified by the [[Secret Empire]]. Wyre has enhanced strength [800lbs - 25 ton range], superhuman speed, senses, healing, agility, endurance, and reflexes; he also has razor-sharp claws.
