History
One of the three offspring?s of Namor and the ill fated Marrina, which after hatching it traveled to the depths of the ocean and resided there growing with each passing moment taking a dangerous form [footnote=1]%2$s[/footnote]. It became the new Leviathan of the depths, stronger and more dangerous than his mother. It?s miles long and grows rapidly with each passing hour, creating and sustaining it?s own life forms like the Death-Spore. Also if it goes unchecked the Leviathan could change the face of the undersea world and the planet itself. It came into notice when Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker, the supreme leader of Hydra was traveling the depths of the ocean in his newly chastened Hydra underwater submarine that was going to be used to strike against the surface. Hydra?s goal was the use of a toxin named Project: Blue Face that took two years to develop by Nobel Prize winner Sir Phillip Desmond, but Hydra killed him and stole his research for their own. Once the virus is released into seawater it prevents gill-breathing creatures from extracting oxygen from their environment-in effect suffocating them. When the Hydra scientists located in an underwater science facility were about to sent the containers to the submarine, the communication were interrupted as the facility became under attack. As the external cameras were activated it revealed a giant leviathan arm crushing the giant undersea base destroying it and all inside. Strucker was shocked and intrigued by this new life form and plans became into motion to harness its power.

Elsewhere, Aquaria, located three miles below the Atlantic was a joint effort between Homo Mermanus and Homo Sapiens to better surface-to-sea relations. Stingray and his wife were one of many residents here and as was discussing his exo-suit when an Atlantean bangs on the window which he felt he just wanted attention, but was to flee from an underwater monster that ate him. Another resident of this city is Namor and after hearing the human and Atlantean forces combined were being devastated by the undersea death swarm he came into action. The sirens wails of Aquaria were lost to screams of carnage. Namor continues the struggle and even though he has journeyed most of the seven seas he has not seen anything like this alien swarm. In a fit of desperation Namor creates a whirlpool sending the swarms back to the depths of the ocean while the Aquaria people regroup and tend to their wounds. The wounded Namor was about to search out for the swarm with the aid of Stingray, but was halted when his wife informed him that she was pregnant and Namor continued his journey alone.

When the Leviathan first hatched from it's egg, it took a more humanoid figure before it's transformation. Hydra from a distance viewed the massacre of Aquaria, when suddenly their ship became under attack by the Leviathan?s Death-Spore. One hundred elite Hydra soldiers were summoned to try to fend the swarm off to no avail. As Namor traveled to the destroyed facility he was noticing strange plant life he never saw before, and Namor discovered a chasm was the bizarre source of vegetation. The Hydra craft arrives and attacked Namor, sending forth a torpedo which Namor dodges and hits the chasm. As Namor pierces the hide of the massive Hydra ship they activate their shock grid electrocuting Namor and sending the unconscious Namor into the void.

One of the Leviathans arms rises up and catches Namor and brings him to the bottom of the chasm as he remembers that he is his father and wishes to protect him, while the Hydra base goes into pursuit. Namor revives and realizes that the leviathan is one of his children with Marrina and discovers the containers Hydra wants and offers a proposition he gives them the containers if they leave the waters, as he doesn?t know what is inside them. Inside the ship, Hydra Zero notices Hydra Thirteen in plans to steal the containers, so the two clash ending with Thirteen killing Zero and donning his attire. With the containers now is his possession, Strucker doesn?t leave but uses a metal net trapping the farm village that the parasites attacked earlier. He planned on bribing Namor to get him a genetic sample from his offspring so he could create an instrument for Hydra to use.

As Namor hesitates, Strucker orders Zero, who Thirteen is dressed as to release the virus but Thirteen throws the remote controller against the wall destroying it and revealing his true identity none other than Alan Desmond, the son of the man who created the virus. As Strucker and Alan are about to clash Namor attacks the ship and breaks inside after freeing the farm village. Strucker in desperation activates the self-destruct and escapes to his mini-sub. He designed the mini-sub to be nearly indestructible, while Namor arrives trying to get in. He informs Namor he is leaving the virus to kill his offspring and a moment later the super sub blows. Namor desperately tries to hold on to Strucker?s mini-sub, however; Strucker activates the same electric current that immobilized him earlier and suddenly the many arms of the Leviathan rise up in agony from the virus which causes Namor to release his hold allowing Strucker to flee. Namor helplessly observes his child dying from the toxins released into the waters due to the explosion[footnote=2]%2$s[/footnote].

Powers/Abilities
Leviathan II has the same power and abilities as his mother, Marrina aka Leviathan I, but to a higher degree. Even with each passing hour he grew larger and had the ability to alter the ecology in the area and if allowed to continued to grow could alter the entire ocean-scape and all of Earth.

Death-Spore: Unlike his mother, Leviathan II had the ability to create an unknown amount of sustaining organisms that had poison tipped fins, jagged maws, and razor sharp scales and feasted on flesh to do his bidding.
