History
When Kyle Gibney was a teenager his mutant powers became active. His parents wanted to have nothing more to do with him at this point, and kicked him out. While living on the streets Kyle was kidnapped by the shadow-organization, The Secret Empire. Kyle was one of many people experimented on by The Empire. A combination of DNA from Wyre and drugs were used on the subjects, turning them wild and bestial. Gibney was their most successful experiment, having become a veritable killing machine.[footnote=1]%2$s[/footnote] While Kyle was still with the Secret Empire he met Valerie Cooper, a young U.S. government official. Cooper had been under the impression that the Secret Empire was a U.N. sanctioned agency.[footnote=2]%2$s[/footnote] Assigned to help Kyle get in touch with his emotions to unlock his full potential, Cooper befriended him. Having opened Kyle's emotions up, unwittingly she enabled him to release his anger, triggering his mutation further. Cooper learned of the what was being done to Gibney, and eventually turned her back, and moved on to an other job. When Wyre became outraged at how his DNA was being used on others, he destroyed the Secret Empire's compound. Out of guilt, Wyre killed almost everyone in the Empire but missed Gibney. Department H was sent in to clean up the mess and found Gibney wounded, near death.

General Jeremy Clarke of the Ministry of Defense presented Department H with the option of taking Kyle in, or seeing him terminated. The decision fell upon Walter Langkowski, as James Hudson was away. Langkowski thought of how Hudson himself had reformed the bestial Wolverine, and thought himself capable of doing the same for Gibney. Altering the psychiatric reports on Gibney, Langkowski brought him into the Department H training team Gamma Flight.

When Department H disbanded their super-powers program, Alpha Flight remained together, unsanctioned, but the training teams were left in the cold. The mentally unstable Wild Child, as he was then called, was approached by Delphine Courtney to become a member of Omega Flight. The robotic assistant of Jerome Jaxon used an Influencer device to manipulate the emotions of the recruits. Gibney felt abandoned by Hudson and his cohorts, and vowed revenge.[footnote=[footnote=3]%2$s[/footnote]]%2$s[/footnote]Omega Flight ambushed Hudson, and Jaxon, in control of the Box Armour, seemingly killed him. Alpha Flight apprehended the Omega Flight members, and they were imprisoned. Soon Courtney broke the members of Omega Flight out of jail to continue their plan of vengeance against Alpha Flight. Once more defeated, Gibney was sent back to jail.[footnote=4]%2$s[/footnote]

When Department H sought to replace Alpha Flight as the official Canadian heroes, Gibney was paroled into a new Gamma Flight. This team, lead by Nemesis was eventually disbanded, after Alpha Flight proved themselves a superior choice to defend Canada. Feeling abandoned once more, Wild Child went mad, nearly killing a young member of Alpha Flight, Laura Dean. Members of Alpha Flight, along with Wolverine, hunted Gibney down. Before Wild Child could be apprehended, Nemesis teleported him away.[footnote=5]%2$s[/footnote]

When Alpha Flight was in Tierra del Maiz to stop Diablo, they were joined by a mysterious masked fighter who called himself Weapon Omega. He had been sent by the Canadian government to join Alpha Flight as their newest member. When the battle was over Omega revealed his identity as Kyle Gibney. He explained that Department H had discovered an experimental treatment capable of suppressing his homicidal urges, and made him appear much more normal.[footnote=6]%2$s[/footnote] Alpha Flight agreed to allow him to remain with the team.

Eventually Wyre resurfaced, and tried to kill Kyle. He had spent the years since destroying the Secret Empire hunting down the former experiments and killing them, Kyle was the last one. Wyre refused at first to believe that Kyle had reformed and gained control over his wild side. After a prolonged battle with Kyle, later joined by Alpha Flight, Wyre understood the error of his ways. Kyle adopted a new persona, calling himself Wildheart, partially embracing his darker nature. As Wildheart, he remained with the team until it was once more disbanded by the Canadian Government. During this time Kyle had started a romance with his team mate Aurora.

It was not long after Alpha Flight's disbandment that the therapies of Department H began to wear off. Fighting his urges once more, and reverting to his bestial appearance, Kyle fled in shame, leaving Aurora and Canada to accept an offer from Val Cooper to join X-Factor. Once more calling himself Wild Child, Kyle remained with X-Factor until he began to mutate again.[footnote=7]%2$s[/footnote]

Wild Child was drafted by the Weapon X Project, where they subjected him to further manipulation of his mutation. While drafting more members for the program, Wild Child mocked [[Sabretooth] for the burns he suffered from Sunfire. Viciously Sabretooth ripped out Kyle's vocal cords. Kyle was forced to watch as Sabretooth later attacked Aurora, who had also been drafted into the program. Mentally scarred, and mute, Wild Child was forced to endure Aurora's rejections of him while watching her develop a relationship with The Weapon X Director, Malcolm Colcord. When Brent Jackson lead several of the Weapon X members against Colcord, he used Kyle's feelings of rejection to convince him to rebel against Colcord. He remained a member of Jackson's reformed Weapon X.

In the wake of House Of M, many mutants lost their powers. Wild Child was reported to be on the de-powered list, but he appeared in Wakanda storming into Black Panther's palace undetected and kidnapping Sabertooth under the orders of his master Romulus. Wolverine follows the pursuit and is quickly bested by the newly upgraded Wild Child even placing Wolverine in a sleep for 2 days with his poisoned tipped claws 8. It?s believed Romulus restored some of Wild Child?s powers as well as his original appearance and his ability to speak.

Kyle has served Romulus for years, even going back as far as during World War II, where he fought against Wolverine and Captain America as a high ranking Nazi officer in Italy. In present day, under Romulus orders Kyle assisted in the torture of Daken, as well as well was seen with Romulus with pictures of Wolverine being tortured on a wall. Recently he apprehended Wolverine after Logan was exhausted from a previous battle with Omega Red and took him to an ironworks factory in Russia. His plan was to dip Wolverine in molten iron killing him as he explained that Romulus was looking to retire, and wished to pass his mantle on to a worthy successor. The possible Romulus candidates were: Wild Child, Wolverine, Sabretooth, Omega Red, Daken, Nuke and Cyber and who ever was left alive would become the successor. In addition, Wild Child was given he Carbomadium Synthesizer to ensure Omega Red would participate in the competition.

Wild Child?s plan of killing Wolverine was delayed as Omega Red burst into the ironworks factory demanding the Syntheizer. While Wild Child and Omega Red briefly clashed, Wolverine took the opportunity to escape and fled. While distracted by Wolverine?s escape Omega Red impaled Wild Child from behind with one of his tentacles and threw him into the iron bath which he had intended for Wolverine. It?s currently unknown if Wild Child survived or not.

Powers/Abilities
Wild Child posses enhanced strength, agility, reflexes, and stamina.

Claws: Wild Child has long fingernails which can be used as claw like weapons. After Wild Child received yet another upgrade he coated his claws with a poison that was so potent that it put Wolverine to sleep for 2 days.

Durability: Wild Child has superhuman regenerative, which allows him to regenerate injured tissue and brain cells to an extraordinary degree. Diablo turned part of his skin into molten lava and back again, which Kyle didn't even flinch and comments "I'd applaud, but my hands are restrained" impressing Diablo himself.

Fighting Skills: A highly skilled hand-to-hand fighter, Gibney was trained by Wolverine in the early days of Department H. He was also trained by the best in the world, even by Nick Fury. In his bestial rages Wildheart relies more on sheer ferocity than fighting skill. As Wildheart he calls forth an older, inner pool of strength, the beast within. The ancient savage soul of man and once roused, only blood will slate it. Over the years he has been trained by countless people as well as trained with several teams, Kyle is one of the most skilled hand to hand fighters in the Marvel universe. His espionage skills are so great he sneaked into Black Panther's Wakanda's palace and kidnapped Sabertooth where even their advanced technology went undetected a feat Wolverine was unsure if he could do.

Healing Factor: Wild Child possesses a powerful healing factor allowing him to quickly recover from damage that would kill a normal human. It is unknown if his healing factor is as effective as other mutants with similar healing abilities, such as Wolverine or Sabretooth.

Physical Transformation: Due to his unstable mutation. Kyle was subject to frequent shifts in personality and body type, emphasizing different aspects of his power. Kyle has been tall, agile and endowed with superior strength; his appearance with long fangs and sharp claws, with a savage nature and blood lust; and has even appeared walking on all fours with a digitigrade stance and in a very bestial state

Reflexes: Wild Child has enhanced human reflexes, which are beyond the natural limit of the human body. On more than one occasion he has hit Aurora and Northstar, as well as easily dodge blasts from Silver and Auric at the same time.

Senses: Wild Child has heightened senses: taste, smell, hearing, and vision much greater than an average human being. The limits of his heightened senses are unknown, but he is an amazing tracker. He can easily pin-point an explosive on a massive cruise ship with his superior senses. His vision is so great he can see in absolute darkness.

Speed: Wild Child possesses superhuman speed, where even his recent upgrade revealed he has become much faster than Wolverine.

Stamina: Wild Child has meta-human stamina, the ability to sustain peak exertion before fatigue impairs performance for several days.
