Avengers vs X-Men #12 only shows people suddenly gaining mutant powers. No actual former mutants are seen regaining their powers. Maybe this will happen in next week's AvX Consequences #1?

I read it as being like the 5 Lights awakening when Hope appeared; now that the Phoenix Force has been dissipated and spread throughout the world, it's cancelled out Wanda's Chaos Hex and rather than un-done what happened previously, it's just levelled the playing field and left the world in balance for more so now any new X genes are still triggered.
