Default Custom Alpha Flight bound hardcover up on eBay

Wow its only 99.95 starting bid. Too bad Uncanny #109 isn't in it or I'd snag it.

EDIT: Here is a portion of the text from the listing :
Not only are Alpha Flight #'s 1-28 included here, but the volume begins with the Classic X-Men reprints of Uncanny X-Men #'s 120, 121, 139 and 140. Those are the very first ALPHA FLIGHT appearances.

As an extra bonus, the Omnibus ends with both issues of the X-MEN and ALPHA FLIGHT mini-series, by Chris Claremont and Paul Smith!

I'm not normally a big fan of customs, but that would be a pretty sweet collection; far better than the poor quality Classic TPB's Marvel've put out.

What's wrong with the AF Classic tpb's? Just the binding that you dont like?

The binding and the quality of paper.
The MCP HC was decent quality but the TPB's are very flimsy for the price. The recolouring's nice but when you consider all the back issues can be found for 50c each they're not an attractive package.

That IS a pretty cool packaging of JB's Alpha work. Not for me, but cool nonetheless.

Yes, it is. Except it's missing the capstone. Or is it keystone? Without UXM #109, it's so incomplete. The Classic X-Men reprint of that issue is fairly easy to come by in excellent condition. Maybe the guy didn't think it was a key issue??? Its says "John Byrne's Alpha Flight" on the spine, so to omit the first appearance of Weapon Alpha by John Byrne is just weird.

The XMen/Alpha Flight series is absolute gold but I'd just as soon swap both of those issues out for UXM #109 at the beginning and possibly sneak in Machine Man #18 between UXM 139 and 140.

    Yeah, that'd the thing.

I wouldn't have put the Classic X-Men pages in either. Obviously they're there because of the cost, but they're not drawn by Byrne so are almost redundant.
I'd definitely have had UXM #109 in there, or at least the Byrne pages from the CXM versions.

I'd probably have had FF #261 and his covers from Marvel Age #2 & AF #80-81 instead of X-Men/AF too.

That is a sweet collection; but I agree 109 should have been there.
I'd have kept the Classic X-Men pages; since they involve the Flight. Plus, while they weren't drawn by Byrne, I'm pretty sure they were by his stepson.

    Willow: Oz is a werewolf.
    Buffy: It's a long story.
    Oz: I got bit.
    Buffy: Apparently not that long.

This thread has made me look into doing something like this myself...
    Hmm...

I've been wanting to do this for years, but always get held up on the details. I only want the Byrne issues, so one oversized volume with 1-28? Two smaller volumes adding in the 5 X-Men issues? Maybe expand a bit and throw in the Team-Up annual and 2 issue limited series with the X-Men? If I go two books, obviously I'd like number one to end at issue 12. Someday!

Default UXMen # 109 would make it pretty much perfect

This is the compilation I've been hoping and waiting for, for years! The entire Byrne run in one book! Man, I wish I were rich! One day I'll get this...one day....
