I realise that this is a S.H.I.E.L.D. thread, but there are quite a few ties between the movie and the past few episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Should make the next couple of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes really exciting to watch.
Now back to The Winter Soldier. I believe that after most people have seen this latest edition, and have a chance to let in settle in, it will be considered one of the best superhero movies (let alone Marvel movies) of all time. If anyone hears of comparisons to The Dark Knight... there are valid reasons.
Script is amazing, acting is bang on, action sequences are some of the most thrilling ever filmed. I really don't want to say more yet, I want everyone to get the full effect when they see it.
I will say one thing though... there are 2 separate bonus clips at the end of the movie. One halfway through the closing credits, then another at the very end... stay for both of them.

Yes, I have been seeing comparisons to The Dark Knight. And a few people are saying it's one of the best comic movies ever.
It's not to my tastes as much as that, but I see what people are talking about.
The second movie is darker and more paranoid than the first, which is one reason most people will say it's better (because a lot of people confuse 'dark' with 'good'), but why I prefer the first. The first has been described as very, very sincere - and that puts me on its side.

The implications for the show are staggering.

BTW, when does Agents of SHIELD play in the 'States? I'd like to catch up with it while I'm here.

I think the post-credits scene is kinda cool, but not that amazing. Don't let it win a fight with your bladder.

Actually, if you're going to be in Tulsa, then it is on at 7 PM here (Central time).

It just ended, in fact. Now The Goldbergs is on!!

Well, i won't be spoilery or nuthin'. I'll just say that the last two episodes of this show have made the slow starting pace of this series well worth it.

To me, not so much. Another 30 minutes of story, 20 minutes of nothing, and two minutes and "oh, let's try to be mysterious and not tell a story." I won't spoil it but I found the whole thing so predictable from the start, so repetitive. No need to guess who's the real bad guy, just wait until they finally make it obvious to anyone just tuning in.

Had me guessing until the end. And, based on their love of throwing monkey wrenches into ones thought patterns, I may still be guessing.

    Re:Providence

100% formulaic writing on this episode. A three-year-old could have written this plot, and stayed between the lines. I'm very disappointed. It's all too easy to figure out at this point.

And so, a series that picked up for a few episodes, fizzles out once again. Why is it so hard for the writers to get this show right?

I agree. I watched 20 minutes of it and didn't miss a thing. Way too obvious. Maybe they'll have Puck come in to beat up someone, just to tell a story.

Moke, i disagreed with you on the last few episodes...but after viewing this last one, i am starting to wonder if I was fooled momentarily into believing this was going to be a more amazing series, when in reality it was just as middling as it had always been. Which is my way of saying, I think you were correct.

There is a heck of a lot of un-imagination and un-originality going on with this series right now.

Nope. Didn't even think that for a second. An appearance by Mailman Mike would have been more likely than that.
