Do you list it as a 1981 series because that's when they added the 'Uncanny' to the title?
Is that when they added the 'Uncanny' to the title?

(Also, as of this trip, I now have a complete run of the main series of Uncanny X-Men, from #1 in 1964 (?) to #528 (or whatever the 'last' one was) a few years ago. Many of my copies are reprints, of course, and I don't have #63-#92 (?), which are reprints of earlier issues. I'm also missing an annual.)

Yeah, I go by whatever the title in the information box is.

Makes sense, I guess. I think of it as a 1963 (?) series.

Is the information box the fine print under the title page?

Yeah, I (and most people) tend to just think of it as Uncanny X-Men the whole way through and had there been no relaunches of any titles I'd probably have just referred to it as such, but with multiple volumes it gets confusing for new readers and that's part of what this is aimed at.

    And yup, you're correct.

Yeah, it is very confusing indeed. Sometimes you can go by number (eg: if this is #352, there's only one series it can be), but not always (#147 might become ambiguous soon).

Don't worry, I won't let it go to my head.

I've just gone back on all of that and just streamlined the run into one series.
I now have to edit them all :D

That explains why this page is suddenly empty!

You might want to add that X-Men Classic #51 to the appearances forum, too.
Are you an Alpha Flight Collector?

It's essentially just a reprint though, with no new/additional AF art.
