You didn't actually think the 'death' of the Torch would last, did you?

Me, I have a different take. I'm no fan or reader of the F4 either (though I did just come within 2 issues of complete a run of #200-#300). I read FF for a little while, like 12 issues or so, but it managed to be both boring and offensive at the same time. I admired the talent it took to pull that combination off - you'd think the offense alone would make it interesting - but ultimately, just dropped the title.

BUT - the Fantastic Four is Marvel's first family, literally. I think it's really sad if something that shouldn't even affect the comics (movies) is being allowed to do this to their oldest title. And taking with it Doom and the Skrulls, et al. I can't get behind that decision, even if I don't read F4 right now. Those like me who aren't interested can just not read it; but now those who do like it have no choice.

And those who think it's a Marvel institution (me) are left in the cold a little.

I have a ton of much older issues FF... and then there was somewhere around early 200's where I read it, for about two years... And it was good, because the art was clean. And it wasn't so super, wild crazy technology. I think now, current FF, it suffers from as Mokole said. I mean Mokole nailed it. That really is a part of why I feel so disconnected to FF. They're also so seemingly perfect. I mean, with Iron Man, at least he had his alcholism. Pym has had quite a few issues, despite his ground breath size changing serums. But the FF? They seem to be this great family, with great powers, who do these amazing feats, and yet there's a huge disconnect between them and the rest of the people on the world that they're supposed to be heroes to.
