Thread: AF.net successes.

  1. #1

    Default AF.net successes.

Some stuff I've got on the go at the moment made me think about the comic industry and how it's a very close community which really helps in how well this place has done.

    I mean, we've had interviews/Q&A's/thread posts by:

    John Calimee
    James Hudnall
    Duncan Rouleau
    Chris Carlson
    Mark Millar
    Scott Lobdell
    Clayton Henry
    Mike Oeming
    Scott Kollins
    Brian Reber
    Andy Schmidt
    Fred Van Lente
    Jim McCann
    Reilly Brown

and that's just off the top of my head. I'm possibly missing some, and there'll doubtless be more to come...

In a bigger industry we wouldn't have that opportunity, and I like the fact that creators are so easily accessible and passionate about their art.

I'm really proud of this little corner of the web that we've all helped grow.
It's probably why I post so much, just to try and get people interacting more.

A big massive thank you firstly to Ben for all he's done for this place, and to each and every one of you for all you do for this community.

Let's hope Volume 4 helps us go from strength to strength.

I wish I could dig up the old correspondances we had with Steve Seagle during vol.2

You guys have done a lot to create a friendly atmosphere where people can voice their opinions yet rely on the fact that everyone will remain respectful. In this era of online communiciation, where so many people feel they can misbehave without any ramifications, it is no small task to maintain order and keep it enjoyable. I applaud you guys. This is a great group.

There's so many good things I could say about this site and the work Ben has put in plus the decent way people behave. Instead I'll just say it's a joy to be here.

Driftwood: Well, I got about a foot and a half. Now, it says, uh, "The party of the second part shall be known in this contract as the party of the second part."
Fiorello: Well, I don't know about that...
    Driftwood: Now what's the matter?
Fiorello: I no like-a the second party, either.
Driftwood: Well, you should've come to the first party. We didn't get home 'til around four in the morning... I was blind for three days!

In my search for that Mignola pic, I dug up the Calimee interview and was appalled at the behaviour of at least one of us towards the artist. This person shall remain nameless, but for the sake of argument, let's call him 'me'.
Other than that, I think we're mostly okay... mostly.

Wait-a-minute...there are RAMIFICATIONS for misbehaviour!???!? Why didn't somebody warn me? ("Nurse, up the levels of all my drugs, stat!")

It was in the fine print.
    Under the part about
'If any of the parties participating in this contract are shown not to be in their right mind, the entire agreement is automatically nullified.'

Groucho: It's all right, that's in every contract. That's what they call a sanity clause.
Chico: You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

Yeah... all I can find for now is this but the interviews aren't archived
    I'll keep searching though.

Wow, I'd forgotten that Jay Faerber was a member on the list way back before Voume 2, and before he was a writer... Not that I was around then, but still...

I've been lurking for a few days on the site, and decided to check out the forum. I'm glad I did. This seems like a really close-knit group of Alphans, and I'm happy to have joined.

Between Alpha Flight series, we have learned how to crochet, and we have done some quilt-making as well.

In all seriousness (and that's a first!), welcome aboard MajorMountie!
