History

Reed Richards was a brilliant scientist whose research into space flight was cut short by the US government. He, along, with several friends launched an experimental rocket only to be bombarded by cosmic radiation which changed them into the Fantastic Four.

As Mr Fantastic, Richards has led the Fantastic Four through many trials. Unknown to him, his formation of the Four led Dr James MacDonald Hudson to alter the goal of Department H from military research and development into the investigation of super-humans as well as forming a team of heroes which would eventually become Alpha Flight.

Alpha Flight encountered the Reed's wife Sue, the Invisible Girl, when she and Namor were investigating mysterious actions by the Atlanteans. Their trip lead them to the Canadian arctic where they assisted Alpha Flight in fighting The Master of the World.
Shortly after that meeting, Walter Langkowski attended the failed birth of Sue Richards' daughter.

Alpha Flight and the Fantastic Four had limited contact after that. They worked together once again when Reed detected unusual energy readings in the Canadian north. The two teams worked together to investigate only to discover Headlok had taken over a mountainside town. He subverted the first wave of investigators into becoming the Headbangers. The two teams were able to eventually overcome him, working together.

Powers/Abilities

Mr Fantastic's body has prehensile stretching abilities as well as allowing him to compact his body to temporarily occup small spaces (eg, while he may be able to spread his body across a great distance, he can also fit the through the eye of a sewing needle). Mr Fantastic is also super-humanly intelligent, perhaps the smartest man on earth.
