History

When Legion, the mentally unbalanced mutant son of Professor Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller, travelled back in time in an attempt to kill Magneto, he killed Xavier instead, creating a splinter universe known as the Age Of Apocalypse.

In that reality, mutants became the dominant species of the planet. Apocalypse enslaved humanity.

Northstar, and his sister Aurora were members of the EMF (Elite Mutant Force); a group of mutants ran by Sinister, a Horseman of Apocalypse.
Their role was to act as prison guards in an area known as The Pen, where human and mutant slaves were kept to be used in experiments by Sinister and his geneticist Henry McCoy, the Dark Beast.

When a traitor began smuggling out slaves to freedom with the human resistance, Aurora and Northstar's patrol sectors were reassigned by Prelate Havok (Alex Summers), their superior. He gave them the task of monitoring the mutant Lorna Dane in order to catch the traitor unaware.

The traitor turned out to be Prelate Cyclops (Scott Summers), the leader of the EMF, who. upon discovering he had been found, out fought against the two, attacking Northstar with his mutant energy beam.

This enraged Aurora, who prepared to use her electric concussive powers against Cyclops, untill she was knocked out by a large chunk of metal hurled towards her by the mutant powers of Dane.

Both Northstar and Aurora were comatose for many months, during which Apocalypse's empire was destroyed. Apocalypse was himself defeated and seemingly killed.

With the EMF disbanded, Northstar and Aurora went on the run to Canada, where they were eventually hunted down and killed by the man known as Weapon X, the former X-Man Logan Howlett and his daughter Kiara.

Powers/Abilities

Northstar's mutant powers include the ability to utilize the atomic motion within his molecules to propel his body through the air at superhuman speeds. Theoretically, Northstar has the potential to travel at speeds approaching that of light itself. He has a strong resistance to physical stress and temperature extremes, allowing him to stay unharmed when he utilizes his speed. He also emits a soft, blue light. It's unknown if AoA Northstar has the same powers/abilities as 616 Northstar.

Durability: As a side effect of partially robbing her molecules of their atomic motion, the binding forces within and between the molecules increase. This enhances the sheer toughness of Northstar's entire body. This effect gives his skin enough durability to withstand the ravages of wind, friction and air turbulence. He is durable enough to collide into normal human being at mach three speeds and not sustain any damage from the impact. He can also fly right through Sentinel armor as if it were nothing.

Flashbang: While in contact with each other, Aurora and her brother Northstar could could combine their mutant abilities to emit bursts of light of a million candles bright.

Reflexes: Northstar has heightened reflexes, however, the full extent of his reflexes in this reality were never shown

Speed: Through an act of concentration, Northstar can channel a portion of the kinetic energy of the atomic motion in his body's molecules in a single direction. This can accelerate his body in a velocity in direct proportion to the amount of kinetic energy he has tapped. He is capable of going 99% the speed of light, but is limited due to the fact that he would sustain great damage to himself and the environment if he reached that sort of speed. Northstar can safely go Mach 10 without causing any damage. He can also accelerate parts of his body, such as punching a target a hundred times in a less than a second (a feat that has hurt the Hulk).
