History

For several year Jacques Duquesne lead a life of crime in the costumed guise of The Swordsman. For some time he was partnered with Power Man I. During this time he was hired by Egghead in an attempt to hold the US government hostage by threatening to launch a nuclear explosive from a remote Canadian location into the heart of New York City. The Swordsman and Power Man, as well as other villains, were the "hired muscle." Canada dispatched the prototype of Alpha Flight to deal with them, lead by Wolverine. The team was able to subdue the villains and stop the bomb, at the cost of one of their members, Saint Elmo.

The Swordsman later reformed his criminal ways, and died in battle with The Avengers against Kang

Powers/Abilities

The Swordsman was a superb athlete with great ability in unarmed combat. He was a master of the uses of bladed weapons, most notably all forms of swords, and was possibly unequaled in this area of accomplishment during his lifetime.
