The latest volume of Captain Marvel has seen the character based on Earth rather than in space like the previous two volumes, and with this week's Captain Marvel #9 Carol officially steps down from the program.
This most likely leaves Abigail Brand in charge of the program, formerly branded as S.W.O.R.D.
With Puck and Langkowski currently heading up the splinter group of Gamma Flight over in the pages of Immortal Hulk and their involvement in the storyline looking likely to end soon, and Aurora reduced to the odd cameo, could this mean the end of the Alpha Flight connection completely?
The space station and support staff have been used a lot in the background of many storylines lately, so could well continue to be used as an umbrella organisation.
Jim Zub has already stated that his Snowbird and Talisman story in next months True North oneshot takes place in current time, so could this be the start of a focus on the more traditional earth-based branch of Alpha Flight?
