Hmm, it was very hit and miss for me.
Messy, uncohesive, wooden acting, and when the plot was going nowhere it just shoehorned X-Men references in to try and appease fans.
I've mostly been hearing good things about it, but haven't had a chance to see it yet.

I've thoroughly enjoyed it (as my write up in the OP mentions).
Oh, I like this show, too. I like how we're seeing the dad's journey from active participant in mutant bigotry to becoming a ferocious supporter of the mutants.
