Wow.
Claremont's.
"You just decided *all by yourselves* that you are the Earth's protectors. And that you, and *only* you, not your teammates or family, are trustworthy enough to include in the process..."
T'Challa, The New Avengers: Illuminati 1
Then it must always be tomorrow in my worldTomorrow I'll like part of what Lobdell did with Wildchild/Weapon Omega though

Faborite non-Byrne story?
In-series, #29, the fight with the Hulk. That great issue made Mantlo's other work more disappointing.

~I woke up one morning finally seeing the world through a rose colored lense. It turned out to be a blood hemorrhage in my good eye.
Chaos War: Alpha Flight Walter finally conveys the importance of being a part of the original team and has some of his confidence back. The Beasts really put the Flight in a bind, but Snowbird, Shaman, and Northstar help reveal how insidious the plot is. Heather and Mac both show good leadership skills, and Walter doesn't forget about their baby. It's good to see Marrina back, even if she starts to turn into a monster. Aurora has gumption, fighting thrall-gods, surrounded by Wendigoes, in the midst of manifesting Beasts.
The only thing that could've made it better was Puck and Talisman.

Once upon a time, they exploded from the pages of The X-Men. For a moment, they were "Canada's answer to The Avengers."
They were ALPHA FLIGHT....
...once upon a time.
Wendidead. Or X-Wendigo.
Or Wheredigo.

The fur don't come into it! That wendigo has shuffled off this mortal coil! The only reason it stayed on its perch is because you nailed it there!

I'll go along with The Gift as well for faves. After reading that I would have been tickled if Claremont took over AF when Byrne left. He had a good voice for them.
The world is NOT getting more Alpha Flight! Tweet me you twits! @DaVeO52
