Yeah, what the posters on JB's forum said.
I'll explain...
No, wait, there's too much. I'll sum up.
V. Good, nice deer, excellent cover!

Marvelous piece of artwork! :D The real Alpha Flight, (even without the twins).
Where is this supposed to be taking place? Did Alpha have their own Danger Room? And how did Ultron get in there in the first place?

WOW! I love that Sas!
:) cool
Am I the only one a little disconcerted by Macs right leg?
Have you had a thing for Mac's right leg for long? :)
It's the people who have a thing for his left leg that I worry about...
That's such a cool pic. Wish I could afford a commission.

While perusing 'Byrne Robotics' I saw this (halfway down page). Although it's not a commision (at least I don't think so), this seemed to be the best thread to post in. Also I can't recall seeing this particular piece before?
The poster?
I've seen a few for sale on eBay. Never shrinkwrapped though.
Whoa! Nice poster! (And the poster ain't bad, neither) lol
New stuff!...

oh my. that's sweet. Byrne is the Sasquatch guru.
...nobody else has ever been able to draw Sas the way he does.
Although I'd admit to liking how Sas looked in Omega Flight...just not as much as Byrne's.
I like Jim Lee's and Paul Neary's as well. They look like they'd looked at Sasquatch (Byrne's original) before drawing him. So many don't.

That's what the girl at the picnic said. . .
LOL
Dang, this reminds me, i need to find issue one of JB's new "Trio" comic...
Ryan, that is a NEATO piece you got yourself there! I love Hawkeye, he was a nice idea for the pic, although he isn't traditionally one whom i would think of hanging out in a bar and hoisting a pint (he always seemed so tightly wound to me).
Congrats!
:)
It's okay.
Not his best work, not his worst - but the Fred Hembeck strip in the back is wayyy too accurate. It implies it's an F4 expy... and you can see which specific F4 story Byrne's setting up to copy.
Ryan, that is a GREAT commission. I extend you my envy.

"i hope you don't tire of hearing this, JB- you are the best there is at rendering Logan and your Alpha Flight run is sorely missed!!!"
Unfortunately, JB only responded to the Logan part, and said nothing about his AF run.
Ryan, you are correct, that is a VERY nice piece of artwork. Were i part of JB's site, i would add that he is also the best at drawing Heather Hudson, and that it is nice to see her actually LOOK like her.
I don't like long threads of everybody saying the same thing over and over, so I'll be contrary and say that is a great, amazing commission.
Wait, that is what everybody else is saying!
Well, it is a wonderful pic. I'm not gonna tear it down, even just to be contrary.
When I'm really rich I'll have to get a commission myself. =P~
For contrast, my parents got back from the US yesterday, where my Dad got me a bunch of the 90s X-Men that I didn't get back in the day. Seeing Logan back then, all cartoonish and noseless... not so good.
I never had that problem (jeans have always read as jeans to me); but then, I'm not colour blind.Quote:

Here's to hoping you get rich some day! Really wanna see what a JB commission of YOU would look like!
Yes you did! Look, right here...
See!Quote:
...a commission OF myself!
Ya got me there.
New Byrne commission of Alpha Flight with Wolverine and Namor
http://www.byrnerobotics.com/forum/f...406&PN=0&TPN=1
Great pic and hate to be nitpicky but...
Isn't that Wolverine's yellow costume JB drew? At that point, Wolverine was in his tan and brown one. The customer even said "as John drew them in Alpha Flight".
Regardless, awesome pic that gave me warm fuzzies.
It's a nice pic. But.
...is it just me, or does every single character have a VERY wide smile? It's almost like JB was miffed that he was told to make "nobody angry" looking, and so rebelled by giving everyone huge silly grins. And its not the smiles I have a problem with, it is just the width of the mouths themselves.
Of course, it IS a bit like complaining about the Mona Lisa, isn't it? No Question, hands down, JB is the best AF artist there is. NOBODY draws characters like John does.
Great pic!
Love it!
